ON THE ROAD

WITH THE

ROSSMOOR ROADRUNNERS

Vol.11, NO. 2 March 2019

Editor: Carl Pischke

President Message: Linda Towson.

On the road again – Here we are for the month of February at Indian Waters RV Resort in Indio, Ca. Snow-covered mountains and blue skies surround. Our Roadrunner Club members are on their own adventure at the rally in Castaic. The snow is a little closer. Thanks to Frank and Carol Colligan for being wagon masters and organizing fun outings. Never mind the cold, we are all out having fun! Tomorrow we will see the Veltemas and Korsans, who are nearby in the desert. For your future RV travels, we highly recommend San Clemente State Beach RV Park. A new find for us – spacious sites, easy access to the beach, a charming town, probably busy in the summer.

RV Parking – the latest word via Sustainable Rossmoor Group: New requirements from the Contra Costa Fire Dept. necessitated the contractor, Solar Technologies, to modify their design. Still construction should start in April.

Our RV Open House is set for Saturday, April 6 from 2:00-5:00 in the afternoon in the Gateway parking lot. Thanks to Nancy Ferrara for organizing this event. Please invite your friends and neighbors to come and visit our Club’s interesting variety of rigs. Nancy is working on posters and publicity. Through this event we hope to make contact with the 25 people on the RV parking waiting list, and at the same time, peak other Rossmoor residents’ curiosity about RV’s and our Club.

A big welcome to our new members! Hope you will come to our next Roadrunner Club meeting at Creekside on March 4, 7:00 in the evening”.

February 17-24 – Rally at Valencia Travel Village in Castaic.

Our club is off to a good start for 2019.  Our winter one-week rally at Valencia Travel Resort has just concluded with 15 members in attendance. It snowed on the Grape Vine many nights but we all made it to The Valencia Travel Village in Castaic.

Wagon Masters Frank and Carol Colligan did a wonderful job of planning and executing a week of entertainment and social functions.  A couple of highlights include a visit to the Nethercutt Museum to view an excellent automotive collection,

and the Reagan Presidential Library. All went on the Fillmore & Western Movie train ride on Saturday. The farewell dinner was catered, and consisted of chicken, tri-tip, beans, Caesar salad, ice cream and cake. Please join us for our next one-week rally which runs from June 21 to the June 28.
