Twelve members of the Rossmoor Roadrunner RV club recently gathered for their first hangout of 2026 at Riverpoint RV Park in Stockton. This trip offered a perfect blend of scenic views, local exploration, and shared moments that made it a memorable start to the year. From watching massive ocean-going ships glide past their campsites to enjoying local wineries and eateries, the group found plenty to enjoy. Their farewell dinner at The Pho, a local Vietnamese restaurant, wrapped up the trip on a high note.

Riverpoint RV Park: A Perfect Setting for RV Enthusiasts
Riverpoint RV Park offers a unique location right along the waterway where large ships navigate close to the shore. This proximity provides campers with a front-row seat to an impressive maritime display. The park itself is well maintained, with spacious sites that accommodate various RV sizes comfortably. The peaceful environment, combined with the gentle sounds of water and passing ships, creates a relaxing atmosphere that appeals to both seasoned and new RV travelers.
The Rossmoor Roadrunner group appreciated the park’s amenities, including clean restrooms, reliable hookups, and easy access to local attractions. The staff’s friendly and helpful attitude added to the overall positive experience. For those who enjoy watching maritime traffic, Riverpoint offers a rare chance to see ocean-going vessels up close without leaving the comfort of your campsite.
Exploring Stockton’s Local Attractions
While the park provided plenty of entertainment, several members of the group took time to explore Stockton’s local attractions. The city offers a variety of options for visitors interested in history, culture, and nature.
These excursions allowed the group to experience the local flavor beyond the RV park, adding variety and depth to their trip.
Wine Tasting and Dining Experiences
One highlight of the getaway was the opportunity to visit nearby wineries. The region around Stockton is home to several vineyards that produce quality wines worth sampling.
Besides the farewell dinner, the group tried various local eateries. These included casual cafes and more refined dining spots, offering everything from fresh seafood to farm-to-table dishes and favorite Mexican dishes.
The combination of wine and food experiences enriched the trip, providing moments to savor both flavors and company.
The Farewell Dinner at The Pho
The final night brought everyone together at The Pho, a well-regarded Vietnamese restaurant in Stockton. The group shared a meal filled with authentic flavors and lively conversation. The restaurant’s welcoming ambiance and delicious dishes made it a fitting end to the getaway.
Dishes like pho, spring rolls, and banh mi were favorites among the group, showcasing the diversity and richness of Vietnamese cuisine. This dinner not only celebrated the trip’s success but also strengthened the bonds among club members. We all agreed that the Riverpoint RV Park and Marina should be an annual "hangout."

Great view from RV rear window
Our friends swam up to visit for a couple of hours.
And this monster came by just as we were leaving.
Great get together, Thanks Frank and Carol for inviting all of us to join in. Stan and Carol
