Our club is trying a new rally format, and our first one was traveling to the charming village of Olema on the Marin County Coast. There were no planned meals, potlucks, field trips or activities. As we arrived and settled in, we decided what we wanted to do. From all accounts, it was a success and more "hangouts" will be planned.
.
Any member can now announce they are planning a trip and invite others to join them. Everyone makes their own reservations and shows up to enjoy the area and each other's company.
At Olema, we gathered for drinks and snacks and decided to drive up to Point Reyes Station for dinner at Station House Cafe. We all agreed that this is a restaurant we'd go back to for the excellent local oysters, mussels, clam chowder, etc.

There is a lot to explore along the Marin Coast. From Stinson Beach to the south to Bodega Bay up north. Some of us spotted sea otters in a nearby cove. Some explored the nature center or Point Reyes lighthouse. While relaxing at our campsite, we were entertained by a small group of sheep in the adjacent field. This might be a first.

One evening we were introduced to the Finnish game, "Molkky." This may become a regular event at future hangouts. It looks quite challenging and fun.
Where are we going next? Wherever our members decide! And our next hangout has already been announced; Mount Shasta City! Join us or step up and announce one to your favorite place.
