North Coast Summer Rally

When the weather heats up in Rossmoor, it is time to head up the coast. In June we travelled to Fort Bragg and stayed in the Pomo Campground. This was a handy base for exploring Mendocino and other north coast communities and the shops and small museums in Fort Bragg.

We all rode the famous Skunk Train one day and enjoyed being in the redwoods. Of course, the real skunk train is long gone and due to a tunnel collapse, the ride from Fort Bragg going east is only about 7 miles each way. Sadly, the locomotive is a diesel for now, but they are promising to bring back the steam engines again. Maybe we need to put Fort Bragg on our 2023 calendar.

We all got our fill of seafood and had nice final meal together on the Fort Bragg Pier.
