Some of our members decided to get on the road for a few days and enjoy our RV's. We put together a short trip close to home and picked two RV parks with plenty to do nearby.
Our first stop was Casa de Fruta near Gilroy. This is a sprawling complex that started out as a roadside fruit stand over 100 years ago.
The sites were spacious, with full hook-ups and lots of trees.
We were joined by members that no longer have an RV who stayed in the on-site motel.
We enjoyed shared hors d'oeuvres upon arrival. The next day we explored nearby towns (Hollister, Salinas, Monterey, etc.) and came together for a shared meal in the Casa de Fruta restaurant.
Our next stop was the Betebel RV Park on Highway 101 near the town of San Juan de Bautista.

We continued to explore the area and all had stories to tell over our pot luck dinner held in the nicely equipped club room.
On our last night, we all headed over to the cute town of San Juan Bautista for a Mexican dinner at the excellent Jardines De San Juan.
Everyone got home safely. It is nice to know that we can enjoy our RVs and actually stay within 100 miles of Rossmoor.
Who's ready to step up and plan the next one?
